1. Acceptance of Terms
By using SplitLedger, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Service Description
SplitLedger is a multi-currency tool for tracking shared expenses and debts between people. It records transactions and computes balances. SplitLedger does not move money, hold funds, or settle debts on your behalf.
3. Accounts
You must register an account to use the service. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information during registration.
- Keeping your password secure.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
4. Use of the Service
- You are responsible for the accuracy of transactions you record.
- Drafts are mutable; once a transaction is proposed and confirmed, it is part of the shared ledger and is append-only.
- Information you record about other people (contacts, shared transactions) should be accurate and shared with them when relevant.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.
6. Limitation of Liability
SplitLedger is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. SplitLedger is a record-keeping tool and is not a party to any debt, settlement, or dispute between users. We are not liable for:
- Disputes between you and other users over balances or settlements.
- Service interruptions or technical issues.
- Loss of data, beyond reasonable backup practices.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
